      Hello,

We have an Android device which we would like to test with, but we have some difficulties to install the ZAP-fix on it:
We read it requires Rooted Device, what does it mean?

      Thanks.

        Hello CurtisDo,

Creating test scripts with QTP and ZAP-fix that will run on android devices require some tinkering with the device to work.
The main issue to handle before any test can be made is the rooting of the device.
        What is rooting?
Rooting is the general term used to describe the process of obtaining root access or superuser access in an android environment. Some advanced applications like the ZAP-fix server require this access to handle their requests to the environment.

Each device needs to use the appropriate tool and rooting method for itself.
Due to the vast range of android devices, makers and version we don’t provide comprehensive guide to any device specifically.
The best course of action is to locate the correct rooting procedure for your device on the XDA forums, that is the world largest repository of knowledge pertaining to the different rooting methods.

Hope this helped, please contact Zap for further help on this subject.

        Thanks,
        Sasha
