Hello RobKites,
Thank-you for your question.
The new ZAPTEST’s Step view feature is a new patent by Zap’s R&D Department.
If you are familiar wit QTPUFT there is also a similar feature named Keyword View.
Basically the Step view is a very friendly way to help unprofessional ZAPTEST user to create view and update tests – The process is very simple:
1. You record the test’s steps you wish to test, using another new and exciting patent by Zap, the Test Recorded feature;
2. After you finish to record and the recorder finishes gathering and translating into Script view all the captured steps during recording, you switch to Step view where you can view all the recorded steps as small images of the actual objects which you’ve used to execute the tests’ steps, one step after the other;
3. Each imagecaptured object has in its bottom a drop-down box which allows you to select other methods which can be executed upon the specific object – This way you can update your test without the need to use the more complex Script view.
Please contact Zap for further help.
Thanks,
Sasha
