Hi,
I’ve created script couple of months back, when I created script it was running successfully and gave 100% result. When I run the same script again today with latest Zap test build, Some of the elements are not recognized by the script. Script results says it clicked on “Page Clip” element on top right corner of the webpage(please see images attached below). But when click on “Page clip” element, “Clip whole page” and “Cancel” buttons should be shown allowing users to take screenshot of whole page. So my script is looking for (Scroll To) “Clip Whole Page” button and fails to find it. And script run fails. I’ve attached images of TestResults, Script steps and image expected result after clicking “Page Clip” on web page.
Please suggest.
Thanks.
Hello vindavarapu,
There may be several reasons why your test does not run as successfully as before:
1. During the period passed after you’ve ran the test successfully GUI changes may have been made in the page even small changes may affect object’s recognition (Changes such as: different coloring, caption, place and size of the object, etc).
2. The test may ran successfully only once but the second time it may not run successfully, meaning the object was not recognized properly.
3. There may be more required waiting time before clicking on the “Page Clip” object and getting the popup window.
Please try the following:
1. Scan again the “Screen capture page” View and assign it to a new Application and NOT to the original “PB” Application (Since this is a new window).
2. Make sure that objects with captions in them will be assigned as OCR based objects and not Image based objects.
3. Make sure in the new scanned View the “Clip al Pag” object is being recognized properly and quickly.
4. Update your testing script with the new assign ed objects and run the test again.
If the test will fail again please send the whole testing script (he actual *.zap file) to us so we’ll examine it more precisely.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
ZAPTEST Team
