Hello BarbJack,
Thank-you for your questions.
Regarding your first question:
Yes, you are right, the new QTP (QuickTest Professional) version is named UFT (Stands for "Unified Functional Testing").
Regarding the ZPX (Zap-Fix) Browsers’ question:
Although ZPX is an Add-in for QTP, it has its own unique features which enable to overcome some of the most disturbing issues and limitations we face when working with QTP – Issues such as:
Automation on any GUI platform available, immediate recognition of all appeared Objects without any need to use descriptive programming, automating popular environments that QTP does not support (Such as Mobile devices, Linux and Mac), and more.
The ZPX unique features include its own methods’ library (With option to customize it as much as necessary, based on the environment it has to test), its own unique objects, and most of all its own unique objects’ recognition mechanism (Now has HP’s published most recommended and best practice solution for any type of testing support which QTP cannot generate).
These features, combining with QTP (Using only ZPX as QTP’s assigned Add-in) enables to build tests on any GUI environment, platform and Browser (Including Safari, Opera, Firefox, Chrome, IE, and any other available Browsers).
