Hello BarbJack,
Thank-you for your question.
In the previous versions of Zapfree (AKA ZAPTEST Community Edition) there was no Workbench, it was only a part of the full Enterprise version of ZAPTEST, but now it was added for free to the latest Zapfree version.
The Workbench is one of Zap’s main patents and a major step in creating a full functional automated test.
After finishing recording a new test using Zapfree, if the test does not run as expected (Does not use the expected recorded objects) this means there is a need to update the objects which is done in the Workbench:
There you can view the recorded objects or scan a new View which will contain a page from your AUT (Application Under Test), then by highlighting the captured objects you will know if the objects are being recognized by Zapfree – If they don’t then you’ll need to update these objects by updating their Properties (Properties such as: New caption or image based object, its color, its precision to locate it or its type of appearance.
After update the objects and saving the Workbench view, you can try and run the test again.
Please contact Zap for further help.
Thanks,
Sasha
