Connecting to Windows Devices

How do you connect to a Windows PC? Does the PC need to have a particular VNC program installed in order to cooperate with the “Host/Server” and “Password” that we are asked to enter? Does it matter which Port we run the connection over?

Is there an instruction manual or “Get Started” manual? I understand how the tests work, but we are having problem getting our devices connected to set up the tests for.

Thank you for your question.

Basically you can use the ZAP Viewer to connect to any machinedevice that resides in your network, this viewer already has the VNC Client feature installed in it and you’ll need to install only the VNC Server on the machinedevice which you want to connect to:
The port and the password will be the ones you’ll specify for the specific VNC Server installation.

Also if you’ll update ZAPFREE to the ZAP Enterprise Edition you will be able to use our ZAPFARM application which enables you to assign and connect any number of machinesdevices and to access then via the ZAP Viewer or the ZAP M-RUN feature.

Mathew – you could use any VNC Server for performing script on the remote machine. It could be a TightVNC, RealVNC, etc.
