      Hi ZAPTEST Team,

My name is Javier and I’ve started to work with ZAP Test tool and it’s brilliant! Thank you!

I have installed successfully in Windows 7 and I would like to run tests in Windows Server platforms but I could not install it in Windows Server 2008, 2012 R2, 2016.

      Could you help me?

      Thank you and best regards,
      Javier.

        Hello Javier,

        Thank you for using ZAPTEST.

After discussing this issue with our R&D team I’ve updated my answer as follow:
        1. We support all Servers >= 2008R2 SP1. BUT Server 2008 doesn’t support .net 4.7.1:So if you’ve tried 2008 only and get .net installation error then this is fine.
        2. If you are unable to install it in these OS you can continue using ZAPTEST which is installed in Win 7 OS and connect to the Win Server OS machines using the ZAPTEST Viewer which enables to connect ZAPTEST to a remote machine and test any UI based app which is installed in it.
        3. If it is important for you to have ZAPTEST installed also on these Win Server OS based machines but you still have issues installing it, first make sure you have all necessary permissions to install successfully ZAPTEST on these machines (Make sure you are the Administrator of these machines and you run the installation file as an Administrator).
        4. If this will not help please send us the following information:
4.1 Are you trying to use Virtual Machine or physical PC? What are the exact Operating Systems you failed to install ZAPTEST in them?
4.2 What error did you got during installation? Please send us screenshots of the failed installation process.
4.3 What ZAPTEST version you are trying to install?
4.4 For further research we will need to have installationApplicationSystem logs from the time of the installation.

        Thanks,
        ZAPTEST Team

Thank you for the answer. I’ve tried to install ZAPTEST in two different Virtual Machines with no good results. ZAPTESTS seems to be installed, however the .NET Framework 4.7.1 seems to report always the same problems: ‘The component store has been corrupted’
Did you heard this problem before? This is the log file reported:

            Hello!

It seems like your update storage is corrupted, please try to do some system checks first which is listed here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/microsoft-net-framework-installation-error/1b703891-2cfc-4e36-aa3d-1dd46c242346

              Hi AndreySh,

Thanks for the answer. The problem was that for some reason the .NET Framework 4.7.1 could not be downloaded and installed straight away when running the ZAPTEST setup. The .NET Framework 4.7.1 get corrupted and installation could not be carried out anymore.

As I am working with Virtual Machines, I could recover a clean image of the Windows Server 2016 and I have downloaded the .NET Framework 4.7.1 and installed manually.

Unfortunately, I’ve got a new problem. When running the setup, I get an error saying that ‘Cannot download ZAPTEST package, please try again.’ (see attachment #1)
I have reviewed the user rights, firewall and the event viewer reported this Metadata staging failed (see attachment #1)

I have reading the following articles and applying the ideas included, but there is no way to solve the problem…

                Hello!

It seems IE blocks file downloading process.

                Please use Offline Installer: https://www.zaptest.com/software/download-zaptest?offline-installer

                Thank you,
