      Hi

I have created a small script a couple of steps for testing purposes using the API explorer functionality.

I wanted to create a file which I could use to verify the output of my tests, this is addition to the auto generated HTML report, however I have no functions showing in the Repository Explorer I don’t think I shall need to grab any screens for automated clicks etc.
I am controlling an external device via REST and using using check list to determine if the response is what I expect which then determines if the test passes or fails.

Lastly I notice that the free edition doesn’t support any loops so I guess that means that I cannot just loop a test from end and back to the beginning ? also not sure what Iterations are for are they another kind of loop ?

Sorry one more thing I see that I can call a test via batch file, and have looked at the switches for this is there any notice that the test has ended ?

Sorry for all the questions this is very new to me

p.s Do you have a ball park for paid version ?

      Thanks

Hello Alan. Thanks for using ZAPTEST.

If you need to work with some external file you can use Datatable.ImportExcel method to import some data from external spreadsheet and then compare it with the API returned output.

As for loops/iterations. Loops are not allowed in the Free Edition, that’s true. As for datatable iterations – yes, this is kid of integrated loops and you can use it in Free Edition dun number of iterations limited to 3.

There is an option of emailing of the script result thus you can set up and receive email as soon as script will finishes.

As for the pricing – please contact us via this form – https://www.zaptest.com/get-started?free-trial and sales team will arrange short presentation with you and will explain pricing etc.

        Hope that helps.
        Thanks.
        Kirill,

          Thanks for your reply

Thanks for telling me about the Excel import, however what I was looking for is to create a file of the results of my tests. There appeared via some of the videos that there was a report writer / log file or similair, however I have NO items in Reposity Explorer

OK if we are talking about result report you can either have it in HTML view or PDF view – please navigate to Tools – Options – Result Reporting – Output Format drop down list.
The only things in the Repository Explorer are the objects that you manipulating with within your test scenario.

            Hope that helps.
