Type Method in Microsoft Edge

  Good afternoon, Candree!

  ZAPTEST Team has checked the Microsoft EDGE browser in the laboratory and it works as expected on our environment.

  Could you try reboot the PC and update ZAPTEST to the latest version? Also if possible, could you provide the following information:

  1. The address of the web application. It could be some public application where you have the same issue.
  2. Windows OS / Microsoft EDGE Versions

  I’ve rebooted and have version 17.2.5 of Zaptest, still not working as of this morning. I’m on windows 10, edge version 40.15063.0.0, the website I’m on is “http://live.dominionsystems.com”. Thanks.

  ZAPTEST Team has released new version of ZAPTEST (17.2.9) where fixed some issues with Microsoft EDGE browser. Could you try the latest version and provide your feedback?

  Also this new version has new method:

  • Zap.Keyboard.SetTypeDelay 1000

  So you could set custom Type delay for your script. It could be useful in case of EDGE browser. Try to use 400-2000 in case if you still have some issues with browser.

  Not able to Type in value for Username field. But in the HTML Report its showing as PASS and value has been entered.
  but in the ui username and PASSWORD are not entered.
  AUT is installed in in Win 10 PC, Lenovo T495 AMD 64bit

  Please do the needful. We started doing POC for our application automation

  Hello ashwini,

  When you write “Not able to Type in value for Username field…” I understand you mean that the ZAPTEST based test you’ve created does not able to type in the Username, correct(?), if yes please check the following video explaining similar test:

  If you still have issues with the test please attach it and attach a screenshot of the page where you attempt to type Username and Password.

  Thank you so much for the reply. Type is working only when i launch the application in Debug mode, if i launch the already installed app. its not working

  Hello Ashwini!

  Edge Browser requires some delay between and after typing into the input box, please set some typing delays (see an example):

  
Zap.Keyboard.SetLocalBeforeTypeMethodDelay 1000
Zap.Keyboard.SetLocalAfterTypeMethodDelay 1000

  Application("Application").View("View").Object("Input").Type "Input Text"
