Hello CurtisDo,
Thank-you for your question.
Basically there is a great difference between ZPX (Zap-fix) and the QTP Addins, this is a short list of some of the most significant differences:
1. ZPX is extremely easy to use on any known platform, while some of the QTP Addins are complex to work with (Lack of required methods, in QTP .Net Addin there is a need to create its own unique methods’ library for a specific AUT (Application Under Test)).
2. ZPX answers to all existing IT platforms, including Mobile, Mac, Unix, while QTP is limited to its own published Addins (Limited to a PC), also ZPX can handle all types of apps including all kind of Internet Browsers (QTP works mostly with IE, and only the last UFT version works with Chrome, also QTP is limited mostly to a Windows’ based apps).
3. ZPX is small utility which can handle all required automation while QTP (And its Addins) is a very big app (Couple of GB and keeps growing, especially in its latest UFT version).
4. ZPX methods and functionality can be modified to each client’s unique AUT testing requirements, while QTP is a fixed app which cannot be changed (Most of it is as it is, out-of-the-box).
5. If a bug is being found in QTP it takes great deal to handle it and only once in a while a new Patch orand a HotFix comes out, while ZPX bugs can be solved right in the spot.
The above are only some of the differences between ZPX and the QTP Addins, please contact Zap for more explanation and help.
Thanks,
Sasha
