      Hello Steven.Leatherbarrow!

Thank you for paying attention to ZAPTEST software and letting us your problems!

      1. We will improve the logic of minimizing and maximizing software in a future build.
      2. In your case, parent and child apps could have exactly the same properties. ZAPTEST detects apps [windows] by window Title and(or) WndClass properties. This way you should set properties which identify exactly your window (child not the parent).

Usually, when you scan your child window, ZAPTEST sets the best properties for that, but in some cases, you have to update them. For example when parent window has exactly the same name and class. Also, you could use the option when ZAPTEST doesn’t activate the window when you use some specific Views from the Object Repository.

Please, check out our tutorials to get more information about ZAPTEST.

Hope it helps. Let us know if you still have some difficulties.

      Thank you,
      ZAPTEST Team

I have tried several methods to solve this specific problem

It is clearly an edge case and your answer implies that yet you suggestion, disappointingly, is “check out the tutorials”

        Perhaps I’ve missed it?

Can you point out a link to a *specific* tutorial or page in the documentation that may help me out

          Hello!

Could you provide information about two different windows? (title and wndclass, you could scan 2 different windows, and create 2 different applications for them) And also attach your test script, we will try to help you! This way (with 2 Applications objects) the script will contain all nesacery information for us.

I think the problem could be here, are you using single Application object for different windows? You should not. Please use separate applicating objects for each window which you are using: or use the right way of window identification.

Regarding the documentation, please check out this one: https://www.zaptest.com/user-zone/product-training/zaptest/getting-started/troubleshooting-application-not-found. It probably describes exactly your situation.

          Thank You,
          ZAPTEST Team
